Softball Recap: Dansville Mustangs vs. Caledonia-Mumford Raiders
Dansville extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders, falling 18-0. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.
As for Caledonia-Mumford, they now have a winning record of 3-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.
For Caledonia-Mumford's part, the result came thanks to Grace Beach's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Beach.
On the hitting side, Colleen Talty was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shea Drazkowski, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dansville will face off against Wayland-Cohocton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Caledonia-Mumford, they will challenge Le Roy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
