Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Stanton County walked away with it. They beat the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 49-47. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three contests in a row.

Stanton County's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Sylvan-Lucas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-8.

Coming up, Stanton County will square off against Sterling at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sterling knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Stanton County likes a good challenge. Sylvan-Lucas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
