Recap: Northwest Mounties vs. Jackson Vikings
After flying high against the Fowlerville Gladiators last Monday, the Northwest Mounties came back down to earth. Northwest took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson. While losing is never fun, Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Jackson is ranked 46th).
Among those leading the charge was Cyron Stamper, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrion Weller, who scored ten points.
Northwest has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Northwest will head out on the road to face off against Columbia Central at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Napoleon at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th.
