Basketball Game Preview: Salem Generals vs. Lake George Lakers

Salem and Lake George are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Salem came up short against North Warren Central and fell 41-30.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lake George against Saranac Lake two weeks ago as the team secured a 59-23 win. The Lakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Salem better keep an eye on Mykah Collier-Fisher. She was instrumental in Lake George's win, dropping a double-double on ten points and 19 boards. Collier-Fisher is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Stanco, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Lake George smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 32 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Lake George's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Salem skirted past Lake George 45-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Salem repeat their success, or does Lake George have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
