Basketball Recap: Hannah-Pamplico Comes Up Short

Hannah-Pamplico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 71-16 loss at the hands of the Carvers Bay Bears. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.

JaKiya Wilson was Hannah-Pamplico's leading scorer, having posted five points. Jalaya Graham held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Leading Carvers Bay to victory were D'Essence Graham and Jurnee Blye. D'Essence almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists, while Blye went 8 for 10 on her way to 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Graham has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Erykah Brown, who went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Hannah-Pamplico's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Carvers Bay, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Hannah-Pamplico has already played their next contest, a 42-23 win against Hemingway on the 29th. As for Carvers Bay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 34-8 victory against Lake View on the 31st.
