Volleyball Recap: Fall River Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sheboygan Christian, Fall River was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Milwaukee Juneau Pioneers by a score of 2-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Fall River took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12.

Emma Sampson paced Fall River's offense, picking up seven kills. Sampson got some help from Addison McDonald and her 18 assists. McDonald was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Fall River's win bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Milwaukee Juneau, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13.

Fall River has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Shorewood on the 16th. Milwaukee Juneau has also already played their next matchup (against Milwaukee Reagan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
