Preview: Smithville Tigers vs. Caldwell Hornets
The Smithville Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Caldwell Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Smithville has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
Smithville pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 88-56 loss at the hands of Taylor. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Smithville in their matchups with Taylor: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Caldwell was able to grind out a solid victory over Giddings on Tuesday, taking the game 49-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Caldwell.
Smithville dropped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Caldwell, they now have a winning record of 17-16.
Smithville was dealt a bruising 71-44 loss at the hands of Caldwell when the teams last played back in January. Can Smithville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
