Preview: Northside Patriots vs. Union Grove Wolverines
Northside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Union Grove Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. Northside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Union Grove is ranked 91st).
Northside suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 78-50 defeat at the hands of McIntosh. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northside in their matchups with McIntosh: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, even though Jones County scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Union Grove still came out on top. Union Grove took their match against Jones County 68-58.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Union Grove, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Northside and Union Grove were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but Northside came up empty-handed after a 71-70 loss. Thankfully for Northside, Tony Colley (who scored 29 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
