Volleyball Recap: North Bay Haven Academy Find Success

North Bay Haven Academy picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day North Bay Haven Academy got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 17-25, 15-12.

Among those leading the charge was Alana Cabatu, who had 15 digs and six assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Mariana Alvarez and Hayden Zimmerman certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Alvarez had 17 digs and four assists, while Zimmerman had three digs and two aces.

North Bay Haven Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Lakewood Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

North Bay Haven Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bay on the 16th. As for Lakewood Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Bradenton Christian on the 16th.
