Basketball Recap: Booker Comes Up Short

If Booker was feeling good fresh off their 60-32 takedown of DeSoto County last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Booker Tornadoes took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bloomingdale Bulls on Friday. The Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Despite the loss, Booker still got an impressive performance from Brianna Behn, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 20 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Marayah Stuart, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Noelle Mengel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bloomingdale, putting up 22 points. Jennie Gutman was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Booker has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Bloomingdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Booker has already played their next game, a 72-35 win against Plant on the 18th. As for Bloomingdale, they will host Wharton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
