Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Addy Lathem and Kaylee Lawrence Lead New Washington to Victory

New Washington had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Franklin County Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Mustangs were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Wildcats, so the Mustangs were just returning the favor.

New Washington was led to victory by Kaylee Lawrence and Addy Lathem. Lawrence had ten kills and five digs, while Lathem had eight digs and one block. With that strong performance, Lawrence is now averaging an impressive 5.3 kills per game.

New Washington's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Franklin County, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Washington will venture away from home to challenge Medora at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin County, they will head out to square off against East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
