Volleyball Game Preview: Zion-Benton Zee-Bees vs. Lakes Eagles

The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees will challenge the Lakes Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Wednesday, Zion-Benton came up short against Stevenson and fell 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Zee-Bees in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost five in a row.

Zion-Benton was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Zion-Benton had strong showings from Brayden Young, who had seven digs and six assists, and Ben Garza-Kohl, who had three digs.

Meanwhile, Lakes also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Warren Township by a score of 2-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Zion-Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-25.

Zion-Benton was able to grind out a solid win over Lakes in their previous meeting back in June of 2021, winning 2-0. Will the Zee-Bees repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
