Soccer Game Preview: River Valley vs. Clear Fork

River Valley is 0-8 against Clear Fork since September of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Colts at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

River Valley took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Galion a 3-0 shutout. Considering River Valley have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Galion with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Avery Street, Kylee Mosley, and Cassidy Elliott.

Meanwhile, Clear Fork waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Minutemen. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Clear Fork's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Lexington are ranked 110th).

River Valley now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Clear Fork, their win bumped their record up to 11-1-2.

River Valley might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Clear Fork in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
