Baseball Recap: Myers Park Victorious

Myers Park proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Marvin Ridge Mavericks 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Myers Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon West, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was West's first of the season.

Myers Park's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Marvin Ridge, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Myers Park will take on Ballantyne Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Myers Park's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Ballantyne Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Marvin Ridge, they will face off against Hickory Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
