Football Game Preview: Oxford Chargers vs. Horn Lake Eagles + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Demar Jamerson and Floyd Sinegal are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Oxford Chargers will host the Horn Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Oxford comes in on seven and Horn Lake on three.

Oxford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Hernando. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Meanwhile, Horn Lake faced Madison Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles walked away with a 35-28 win over the Jaguars.

Oxford better keep an eye on Lance McGowen. He was instrumental in Horn Lake's win, picking up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards McGowen has posted since back in November of 2024.

Horn Lake's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Linkin Sanders and Matt Frazier, who racked up five sacks between them. Sanders is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another thorn in Madison Central's side was Dallen Clayton, who picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made three total tackles.

Horn Lake's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Oxford, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everything went Oxford's way against Horn Lake when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Oxford made off with a 48-28 victory. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
