Softball Recap: Oxford Victorious

Oxford hadn't done well against Little River recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Redskins 21-19. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Redskins on Monday, they had to take a 10-9 loss.

Taleah Morris was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Fayth Catlin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Oxford's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Little River, they moved to 3-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford will face off against West Elk at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Wildcats have lost five straight at home , while the Patriots have lost four on the road. As for Little River, they will welcome Sterling at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
