Baseball Recap: Wortham Comes Up Short

Wortham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-3 to the LaPoynor Flyers.

Wortham saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Chasteen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Owen Burks also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wortham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for LaPoynor, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.

While Wortham had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
