Del Mar is 8-2 against Yerba Buena since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Del Mar Dons will challenge the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Del Mar was able to grind out a solid win over James Lick, taking the game 68-55. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for the Dons this season.

Meanwhile, Yerba Buena came into Friday's matchup having lost 17 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 59-45 victory over San Jose on Friday.

Yerba Buena had a senior duo take command as Brandon Tran posted 21 points and Andy Pham earned 16 points. Tran's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thien Nguyen, who had seven points.

Del Mar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Yerba Buena, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-16.

Everything went Del Mar's way against Yerba Buena in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Del Mar made off with a 61-39 victory. Will Del Mar repeat their success, or does Yerba Buena have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
