Basketball Game Preview: De Soto Pirates vs. New Lisbon Rockets

After both having extra time off, the De Soto Pirates and the New Lisbon Rockets will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Lisbon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on De Soto, who comes in off a win.

De Soto is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past La Farge/Youth Initiative 70-13 last Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, New Lisbon didn't have quite enough to beat Wonewoc-Center last Friday and fell 40-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rockets have suffered against the Wolves since December 9, 2021.

De Soto now has a winning record of 4-3. As for New Lisbon, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

De Soto came up short against New Lisbon when the teams last played back in January, falling 57-51. Can De Soto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
