Softball Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short

After flying high against Coral Park on Tuesday, Homestead came back down to earth. The Broncos fell 14-9 to TERRA Environmental on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against TERRA Environmental this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 back in March.

Carla Romero and Deanna Jones did some serious damage despite the final result: Romero went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Jones went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Romero has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anahi Davalos, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Homestead's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for TERRA Environmental, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Homestead has already played their next matchup, a 23-2 win against Northwestern on the 22nd. TERRA Environmental has also already played their next game (against Hialeah), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
