Volleyball Game Preview: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Casteel Colts

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will head out on the road to challenge the Casteel Colts at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shadow Ridge will be strutting in after a win while Casteel will be coming in after a defeat.

Shadow Ridge made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Liberty, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Stallions put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Stallions as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Casteel faced Perry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Colts took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pumas. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Pumas: they've now lost five in a row.

Casteel couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Perry a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14, 28-30, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Casteel saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Will Schneiderman had 22 digs and six assists. Schneiderman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Shadow Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-15. As for Casteel, their loss dropped their record down to 19-10-1.
