Basketball Game Preview: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS

Batavia is on a eight-game streak of home wins, while Madeira is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Batavia Bulldogs just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Batavia will be strutting in after a win while Madeira will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Batavia beat Western Brown 63-53. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Broncos are ranked 657th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Madeira ended up a good deal behind Taylor on Thursday and lost 55-37. The MUSTANGS/AMAZONS haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Batavia is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. As for Madeira, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Batavia beat Madeira 55-43 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does Batavia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madeira turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
