Softball Recap: Riverview Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Riverview can now relate to. They lost 10-3 to the Sickles Gryphons on Tuesday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Camryn Demilio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and nine unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Riverview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylieann Fitzenberger, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Riverview has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Sickles, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-16 record this season.

Riverview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sickles, they will take on Plant at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Gryphons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
