Recap: Avon Panthers vs. Wareham Vikings
The Avon Panthers lost against the Wareham Vikings back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Avon suffered a rough 56-32 defeat at the hands of Wareham. Avon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Hanelie Cadet, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Uwa Idada, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds.
Avon has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Wareham, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Avon will head out on the road to square off against Westport at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Westport's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Avon's offense will have their work cut out for them. Wareham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
