Basketball Game Preview: Armada Tigers vs. Dryden Cardinals

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Armada Tigers challenge the Dryden Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday... Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Armada took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Almont 50-48. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Raiders are ranked 411th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dryden won against Mayville on Wednesday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Dryden breezed by Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy to the tune of 67-26. The victory was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on three straight.

Dryden is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Armada, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Armada took their victory against Dryden in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 68-45. Does Armada have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dryden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
