Baseball Game Preview: Leominster Blue Devils vs. Salem Witches

The Leominster Blue Devils will head out to square off against the Salem Witches at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Leominster's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Salem's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Leominster is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Tewksbury Memorial just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Redmen by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Salem suffered their biggest loss since April 11th on Tuesday. They came up short against Beverly, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Witches couldn't push the score so high this time.

Rocco Ryan and Shea Christel stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ryan went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run, while Christel went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Christel has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

Leominster's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
