Soccer Recap: Varina Comes Up Short

Varina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They came up short against the Highland Springs Springers, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Highland Springs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in April.

Varina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Highland Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6-1 record this season.

Varina will head out on the road to face off against Colonial Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colonial Heights' last ten contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Highland Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
