Football Recap: Thomas Jefferson Continues Home Dominance on Friday

There's no place like home for Thomas Jefferson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Highlands Ranch Falcons on Friday. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 48-28 victory the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Nick Radi threw for 162 yards and a pair of TDs. Marcus Spearman was his top target, picking up 85 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Zay Rogers rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns.

Highlands Ranch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was George West, who picked up 166 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Rylan Hume was another key player, having thrown for 300 yards and three touchdowns.

Thomas Jefferson's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Highlands Ranch, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Jefferson will venture away from home to square off against Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highlands Ranch, they will head out to take on Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will be up against the Commanders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
