Recap: Sand Rock Wildcats vs. Piedmont Bulldogs
The Sand Rock Wildcats won the last time they faced the Piedmont Bulldogs, and things went their way on Thursday too. Sand Rock enjoyed a cozy 69-50 win over Piedmont. That's two games straight that Sand Rock has won by exactly 19 points.
Sand Rock had a senior duo take command as Katelyn St.Clair scored 29 points along with 7 rebounds and Zoey Handy dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which St.Clair has scored at least 25% of Sand Rock's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylaina Holcomb, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Sand Rock and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Piedmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sand Rock won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Glencoe at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Glencoe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Sand Rock is ranked 94th). As for Piedmont, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Weaver at 6:00 p.m.
