Basketball Game Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. Indian Creek Redskins

The Bellaire Big Reds will be taking part in a tournament against the Indian Creek Redskins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, everything went Bellaire's way against John Marshall as Bellaire made off with a 63-43 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Big Reds.

Bellaire can attribute much of their success to Raekwon Pettigrew, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds, and Caleb Jewell, who went 9 of 22 en route to 19 points and five boards. Keegan Davis was another key player, putting up four points.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek hadn't done well against Weir recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Indian Creek strolled past Weir with points to spare, taking the game 40-23.

Bellaire has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28 points. As for Indian Creek, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Bellaire came up short against Indian Creek in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 51-46. Can Bellaire avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
