League recap: Seton Academy's league-best five wins lead to standings climb

Top honors in the league this week go to Seton Academy, which finished with five wins overall, good for best in the league. The Sting beat Perspectives-Calumet/Calumet Tech 10-0, Urban Prep-West Campus 28-2, Muchin College Prep 15-14, Chicago International Charter-Ellison 27-14 and Agricultural Science 9-4.

St. Francis de Sales and Seton Academy are tied atop the standings of Chicago Catholic - Red, leaving first place open for the taking.

Hales Franciscan still leads the league with just eight base hits given up over the entire season, but Leo gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (one).

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Mallik Prince, who turned in two Ks for the Lions. He's fifth in the league with five total strikeouts.

Nicholas Tanniehill led the Sting to a win on April 2, as he notched eight strikeouts to beat the Warriors, 10-0. He gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings of work.



Bryson Westbrook drove in four runners on Saturday in Seton Academy's 28-2 victory over Urban Prep-West Campus. He went 2-for-5 and scored three runs.
