Recap: Beaver Bobcats vs. Ambridge Bridgers

After a string of three wins, the Beaver Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ambridge. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Despite the defeat, Beaver had strong showings from Nick Krzeczowski, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Brady Mayo, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 44.6% of Beaver's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Beaver's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ambridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Beaver won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mohawk Area at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Mohawk Area knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Beaver likes a good challenge. Ambridge won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Allegheny at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. West Allegheny presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ambridge in Pennsylvania (West Allegheny is ranked 190th, while Ambridge is ranked 470th).
