Soccer Game Preview: Fredericksburg vs. Brownwood

The Fredericksburg Billies will challenge the Brownwood Lions at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fredericksburg is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Lampasas on Tuesday. Fredericksburg fell just short of Lampasas by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Billies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Badgers are ranked 262nd).

Meanwhile, Brownwood fell victim to Wylie and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0.

Fredericksburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Brownwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-4.

Fredericksburg took their victory against Brownwood in their previous matchup back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Fredericksburg repeat their success, or does Brownwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
