Volleyball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton lost against Great Bend back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Railroaders fell 2-0 to the Panthers.

While Newton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19.

Daisy Bradshaw paced Newton's offense, picking up five kills. Bradshaw got some help from Pozzi Krehbiel and her eight assists. Krehbiel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Gering, each putting up two.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Great Bend, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Newton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Salina Central on the 4th. As for Great Bend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against West on the 4th.
