Baseball Game Preview: Scarsdale Raiders vs. Arlington Admirals

Scarsdale hasn't had much luck against Arlington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Raiders will host the Admirals at 4:30 p.m. Scarsdale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Arlington's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Scarsdale heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Saturday. They fell 4-0 to Ketcham. The match marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Arlington fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mamaroneck on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Admirals' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Arlington got a good showing from Karl Blabac, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Blabac has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cole Mackin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Scarsdale's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
