Volleyball Recap: Southeast Guilford Beats Providence Grove for Their Third Straight Victory + How To Watch

Southeast Guilford extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 8-2. They put the hurt on the Providence Grove Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Southeast Guilford can attribute much of their success to Clarke McLaughlin, who had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave McLaughlin a new career-high in assists (nine).

As for Providence Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered against Southeast Guilford since September 11, 2019.

Providence Grove's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cheyenne Collins, who had 12 assists, and Adalyn Whitaker, who had seven kills and two blocks. Whitaker has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Anniston Bunnell also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Southeast Guilford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Asheboro on the 11th. As for Providence Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Trinity on the 11th.
