Baseball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

If Newark was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Hiawatha last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Norsemen took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers on Friday.

Newark saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Ulrich, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Newark will be playing at home against Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenfield/Northwestern, they will head out on the road to face off against Carlinville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
