Volleyball Recap: Overton Eagles vs. Kearney Catholic Stars
After a string of seven wins, Overton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kearney Catholic Stars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Overton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Kearney Catholic work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 22-25, 25-11.
Daisy Ryan paced Overton's offense, picking up 16 kills. Ryan got some help from

Gracen Hughes controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Overton's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-5. As for Kearney Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
Overton will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bertrand at 8:50 p.m. As for Kearney Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against North Platte on the 24th.
