Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They fell 66-53 to the Wallkill Panthers. Presidents fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Panthers since Wednesday.

As for Wallkill, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. The game was the first time they have beaten Roosevelt on their court since December 14, 2021.

Desmond Lynch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 13-for-24 on his way to 33 points and six assists. What's more, he also posted a 54% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2025. Alex Marshall was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will welcome Marlboro Central at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wallkill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rondout Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Ganders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
