Basketball Game Preview: Watertown Raiders vs. Melrose Red Raiders

The Watertown Raiders will head out to face off against the Melrose Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Watertown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Watertown will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Wakefield Memorial, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Watertown walked away with a 50-43 win over Wakefield Memorial on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Melrose came up short against Stoneham on Tuesday and fell 51-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Watertown's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Melrose, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Watertown took their win against Melrose in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 48-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Watertown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
