Soccer Game Preview: Marcellus vs. Covert

The Marcellus Wildcats will challenge the Covert Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Marcellus' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Marcellus came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Calhoun Christian, falling 3-0. The loss put an end to Marcellus' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Covert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Michigan Lutheran.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marcellus fell to 2-1-1. As for Covert, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Marcellus took their victory against Covert in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
