After a string of four wins, Southaven's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the DeSoto Central Jaguars, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in March.

Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for DeSoto Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southaven is set to square off against their familiar foe Oxford at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, DeSoto Central will face off against rival Hernando at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are on an eight-game streak of home wins, the Tigers a 12-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
