Basketball Recap: Bradenton Christian Panthers vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs

On Monday, everything came up roses for Bradenton Christian at home against the Bulldogs as the squad secured a 53-22 victory. Given Bradenton Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taylor Blunden was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lana Price, who scored 19 points along with three steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Bradenton Christian and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for DeSoto County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Bradenton Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Bayshore comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for DeSoto County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Port Charlotte knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Bulldogs like a good challenge.
