Baseball Recap: Carbon Victorious

Carbon owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Emery Spartans by a score of 5-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dinos also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

The result came thanks to Xander Pappas's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Carbon is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Carbon's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jacen Urbanik, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Curtis Jones also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Carbon's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-14. As for Emery, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-13 record.

Looking ahead, Carbon will face off against Morgan at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emery will be paying especially close attention to the Dinos' contest: after the Dinos face off against the Trojans, they'll take on Emery again at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
