Basketball Recap: Cameron Culbertson Key Part of Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

With a playoff win on the line, Springfield rose to the challenge on Thursday. They took down the Vidalia Vikings 66-48. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Springfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Culbertson, who went 9-for-14 on her way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Springfield is 15-4 when Culbertson posts three or more steals, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Gray, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 14 points and three steals.

Culbertson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Springfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. Springfield is 14-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Vidalia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-14.

Springfield has already played their next match, a 48-31 defeat against Westlake on the 24th. Vidalia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
