Baseball Recap: Burlington Takes a Loss

Burlington and Mukwonago squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Burlington had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Demons of the 13-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Carter Baumeister was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He has become a key player for Burlington: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 9-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Sagedal, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

The loss snapped Burlington's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-15 record. As for Mukwonago, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Burlington nor Mukwonago have any future games scheduled.
