Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oak Grove last Wednesday, Pleasant Grove came back down to earth. The Pleasant Grove Spartans had to suffer through a 73-44 loss at the hands of the Huffman Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Vikings are ranked ninth).

Pleasant Grove has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Huffman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Pleasant Grove has already played their next game, a 56-44 victory against Indian Springs on the 14th. As for Huffman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 73-44 win against Pleasant Grove on the 15th.
