Meanwhile, Girard hadn't done well against Conneaut Area recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Eagles. The win was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Like Greenville, Girard also got a great game from a two-way player: Carson Stevens. On the mound, Stevens tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Joe Ferretti tossed 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zak Balogh, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Greenville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Girard, their record now sits at 11-3.
