            Softball Recap: Deer Valley Skyhawks vs. Estrella Foothills Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Deer Valley came tearing into  Monday's  contest with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Estrella Foothills Wolves  an   18-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Skyhawks also won the last time the pair played  back in March of 2024.

 Adyson Ordway made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  triple. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Deer Valley got a  massive  performance out of  Avyanah Seely, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  Seely has posted since back in March of 2024.  Samantha Romero also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Deer Valley  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Estrella Foothills only posted  an  OBP of  .118.
Deer Valley's victory was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-3-1. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Estrella Foothills, their  loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-14.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Deer Valley beat the Wolves by a score of  15-0 on Wednesday.
