Baseball Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Stall Warriors

The James Island Trojans will square off against the Stall Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (James Island has 15 straight wins, Stall has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While James Island's victory against Ashley Ridge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Swamp Foxes on Friday.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Stall's offense. They came up short against Fort Dorchester on Friday, falling 16-0.

James Island pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Stall, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

James Island took their victory against Stall when the teams last played back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
